We cannot accept that which is beneath our worth any longer

The world of politics is a many-varied creature, always changing and always growing. Its exceptional ability to evolve is both a promise and a failure. However, in politics, we find many who support reparations for those whose families suffered during a dark part of American history.

Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren are two more hopefuls who support reparations or bills like them. Cory Booker has proposed legislation similar to reparations. Likewise, Bernie Sanders once stated that he would prefer to apply the money from reparations to assisting those in distressed areas today, which are overwhelmingly people of color.

One of the most recognizable faces of Hollywood recently spoke about the issue of reparations. In June 2019, Danny Glover made an appearance to support reparations for the family members of former slaves and those otherwise abused by now-unlawful practices. He made it a point to note his meeting with his freed slave family member as a young child. The memories were too much for the seasoned actor to bear.

And perhaps one of the least publicized groups who support reparations are the intellectuals. Indeed, in a world full of technology and access, we’ve forgotten about our most intelligent. They’ve been shunted away to study, discover, and learn as we enjoy reading about the newest scandal.

ADVANCE THE FIGHT FOR RACIAL INJUSTICE AND EQUALITY

Support Reparations Now in our work to in advocating for civil, social, and human rights for people of color. We are experiencing unprecedented times unlike anything we’ve seen in the past. The reality is, the most vulnerable communities are hit the hardest. Communities of color continue to endure systemic oppression and racial inequalities. They are adversely affected by the lack of equal education and access to adequate health care and public services. Join us in our fight for an inclusive humanity, equality, and drive to eliminate racial injustice.
